Rescue Radios and Separate UHF/VHF Capability

Compatible Talk2Me Rescue radios may combine:

• Push-to-Talk over Cellular communication
• Separate UHF/VHF radio capability
• Mobile or handheld operation, depending on the model
• Additional radio controls and antenna requirements

PoC and UHF/VHF are separate functions

Talk2Me PoC communication uses cellular data or supported Wi-Fi.

The separate UHF/VHF portion communicates through radio frequencies and does not require the PoC SIM or an internet connection.

A radio may therefore have working UHF/VHF capability while its PoC service is offline, or working PoC service while no UHF/VHF frequencies have been programmed.

UHF/VHF licensing and lawful use

Customers are responsible for using UHF/VHF frequencies lawfully.

Purchasing a Rescue radio does not grant:

• An amateur-radio license
• A commercial radio license
• Permission to use public-safety frequencies
• Permission to transmit on restricted channels
• Authorization to interfere with another radio system

Talk2Me does not preprogram unauthorized UHF/VHF frequencies. Customers should confirm applicable licensing and programming requirements before transmitting.

PRS, CRS & HamLink and Private-Network Access

A physical radio model and a Talk2Me platform service are separate parts of the configuration.

A compatible radio may be configured for:

• Public Radio Service (PRS)
• CRS when available and assigned

• A Talk2Me private network
• More than one assigned platform, depending on the radio

Not every radio has the same number of available Talk2Me platform assignments. Confirm the required services before ordering.

Public Radio Service (PRS)

PRS is Talk2Me’s shared public PoC platform and may be appropriate for customers who want access to available public groups and community communication.

CRS

CRS is an additional Talk2Me platform that should be considered only when available and assigned. Availability, eligibility, and assignment may differ from PRS.

HamLink

HamLink is intended for verified amateur-radio operators.

Customers requesting HamLink should be prepared to provide an amateur-radio callsign, license information, and other information needed for verification.

Purchasing a compatible radio does not automatically establish HamLink eligibility.

Private Networks

A private network may be appropriate for:
